Postpone electricity purchases and benefit from lower grid utilisation prices
Primeo NetzDynamisch is an alternative to the standard grid usage tariff. You benefit from Primeo NetzDynamisch if you shift your electricity consumption to times when the electricity grid is under low load. This also applies to times when a large amount of electricity is produced by photovoltaic systems and fed into the grids.
Are you interested in the Primeo NetzAktiv optional tariff?
You are a customer in the Basic customer group with an annual energy consumption of up to 50,000 kilowatt hours and have larger shiftable energy purchases (e.g. electric cars, heat pumps, etc.). If you shift your electricity consumption to times when either a lot of electricity is being produced or the grid is under low demand, you can reduce your grid usage costs by up to 10 per cent. Household customers with an annual consumption of around 4,500 kilowatt hours (plus 3,000 kilowatt hours per year of shiftable consumption, for example in the form of an electric car or a home storage battery) can save around CHF 100 per year.
How does the new optional tariff work?
The Primeo NetzAktiv optional tariff is an alternative to the existing standard grid utilisation tariff. It includes more tariff periods with different prices for the consumption-based part of the grid usage tariff (labour price). The prices are divided into high, medium and low tariffs, and the tariff periods are divided according to the time of day and time of year (summer and winter). In simple terms, this means that when a lot of electricity is produced by photovoltaic systems and fed into the grid, a lot should be consumed. The price is then lower and more attractive. This also applies to times when little electricity is consumed, such as at night. Shifting consumption to the night also reduces the load on the grid.
Tariff change
You can apply to switch tariffs directly on this page (below). As a rule, the switch will take place within four weeks on the 1st of the following month. Please note that you can switch back at the earliest after one year, at the beginning of each quarter.

Prices change hourly and are announced by 6 p.m. for the following day. The following chart compares the prices of the optional tariff with the standard tariff and gives an impression of the price differences. Your energy management system searches for the cheapest prices and then switches on the electricity supply. It shifts the electricity supply to times when tariffs are low.
The following applications with a higher energy requirement are particularly suitable for load shifting:
Charging an electric car: 3000 Kilowattstunden
Operating a heat pump: 4000-6000 kilowatt hours

Here you will find an overview of energy management systems. As Primeo Energie's dynamic grid usage tariff is published in accordance with VSE industry guidelines, it should be compatible with all EMS systems. However, if customers have any questions about integrating the tariff into their EMS, we would refer them to the provider or installation company.
You can find this information in the myPrimeo customer portal. You will find your metering points under Consumption & Production. If ‘Load profile meter’ is indicated under Meter type, then you have a load profile measurement.
If you see the following information, you do not have a load profile measurement:
«Register values» means that you will receive instalment invoices and a final invoice with the annual consumption measured.
«Smart meter» means that you generally have a monthly meter reading.

Yes, if you have no loads that can be shifted, you will fare worse with the optional tariff than with the standard tariff in the basic supply.
The standard tariffs for the basic customer group apply to energy procurement.
When changing tariffs, a minimum term of one year applies. After this minimum term has expired, you can always cancel at the end of the quarter. The cancellation period is one month. Primeo Energie must be notified of the change in writing.
The aim is to reduce peak loads in the electricity grid and thus relieve the burden on the grid. Dynamic tariffs are an effective means of achieving this. They create a financial incentive for customers to shift their electricity consumption to times when electricity is cheaper and the load on the grid is low.
Primeo Energie will announce the technical details here in autumn 2025, which you can use to query the tariffs in your energy management system.
