The naturemade certification for renewable energy is the standard for our basic supply. We refuse to compromise on this. As a committed company with ecological responsibility, we have been working hard for decades to ensure that the energy revolution produces tangible results. We support the Federal Government’s 2050 Energy Strategy. All our electricity products contain supported electricity.
Primeo Standard
Primeo Standard is what we offer you. We will supply you with Primeo Standard unless you choose a different product. You benefit from renewable electricity at fair prices. Of course, you can also choose an electricity quality that differs from Standard.

Primeo Green
Primeo Green is green electricity of the future and stands for holistic environmental awareness. Primeo Green is certified with the strictest quality label for green electricity with four points (previously “naturemade star”). This guarantees particularly environmentally friendly and sustainable production.
What is green energy
Green energy comes from renewable energy – hydropower, wind and solar energy, biomass and geothermal energy – that has been awarded the four-point seal of approval (previously “naturemade star”). In addition to renewability, the production process also meets comprehensive ecological standards. This means that nature – plants and animals in the surrounding area – is taken into account. This is particularly important because the ever increasing use of renewable sources (especially hydropower) has an impact on living conditions and thus on the diversity of living creatures.
Producers and suppliers of these high-quality electricity products are monitored and audited to ensure high quality standards.

Aare electricity
Are you a customer in the Olten region? Aare electricity is renewable and generated from regional hydropower. Aare electricity also supports renewable energy generation systems in the region as well as energy education projects.

The “naturemade” quality label
“naturemade” is the Swiss quality label for energy and is awarded by the Association for Environmentally Sound Energy (VUE) and supported by WWF, Pro Natura and the Consumer Forum. The "naturemade" quality label builds trust. It guarantees the quality of energy production systems and credible energy products, making the right choice easier.
How does the "naturemade" fund work?
Anyone who orders electricity products with the "naturemade" quality label pays into a fund for ecological improvement measures. A fund levy is collected on all "naturemade" and "star" certified electricity and electricity of this quality that end-customers receive under "naturemade" delivery licences (at all possible quality levels). The fund levy is 0.7 centimes/kWh for every kilowatt hour of "naturemade" and "star" electricity sold to end-customers.
Funding from the electricity sold to end-customers from "naturemade star" certified new renewable energies (photovoltaics, wind, biomass, drinking water power plants) can be used in full for greening/promoting biodiversity as well as for expanding ecological energy production/energy efficiency.
This commitment directly benefits nature and the environment.
These funds are used regularly for projects that serve the fund’s purpose. The resources from the fund may not be used to finance any measures connected to the certification criteria.
Frequently asked questions about our electricity products
In principle, all of our customers automatically receive the Primeo Standard product. If you have recently moved into the Primeo Energie grid area or have never changed your product before, you will be supplied with the Primeo Standard product. Your current electricity product is also listed in the customer portal my.primeo-energie.ch and on your electricity bill. Of course, you can also switch to another electricity product.
That’s easy: Visit our customer portal my.primeo-energie.ch. Then choose the product you want and send us your request. We will gladly take care of the rest.

Primeo Standard and Primeo Green have the “naturemade” certification. Aare electricity consists of regional hydropower without further certification.
The “naturemade” quality label is awarded by the Association for Environmentally Sound Energy. The WWF, Pro Natura and the Swiss Consumer Forum associations guarantee independence in quality label awarding.
All customers in Switzerland pay a grid surcharge (federal levy to promote renewable energies and for ecological refurbishment of hydropower) of currently 2.3 centimes per kilowatt hour with their electricity bill. Customers thus contribute to supporting electricity production from renewable energies.
The quality of this supported production is reimbursed to customers, as the energy supplier does not have to procure any guarantees of origin for the entire electricity amount, but only for the amount less the supported electricity.
In March of the following year, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy provides information about the exact composition of supported electricity. Primeo Energie shows the proportion of supported electricity for each electricity product in the electricity declaration. Information about the composition of electricity products is provided without the supported electricity, as the exact percentages are not publicly disclosed until the following year.
High tariff
Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Low tariff
Daily from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 a.m., on Monday as well as all day on 1 January, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 1 August and 25 December, provided grid conditions and the available control equipment allow.
