Der Wahltarif Primeo Dynamisch

Postpone electricity purchases and benefit from lower grid utilisation prices

Primeo Dynamisch is an alternative to the standard tariff. From 2027, both the grid usage and energy components of this optional tariff will be dynamic. You will benefit from Primeo Dynamisch if you shift your electricity consumption to times when the grid is under low load. This also applies to times when a great deal of electricity is being generated by photovoltaic systems and fed into the grids. Until the end of 2026, the Primeo NetzDynamisch optional tariff will apply, under which only the grid usage component is dynamic.

Are you interested in the Primeo Dynamisch tariff?

Are you a customer in the ‘Basis’ customer group and would like to benefit from lower costs? With the ‘Primeo Dynamisch’ flexible tariff, you can deliberately shift your electricity consumption to times when the grid is under less strain and procurement costs are low. In this way, you actively contribute to grid stability whilst reducing your electricity costs.

How does the optional tariff work?
With the Primeo Dynamisch tariff, both the grid usage charge and the energy tariff are dynamic. The prices under this dynamic tariff are adjusted hourly in line with the expected grid load and market prices. Prices for the following day are published by 6 pm the day before via an online interface (Web API). There is no effort required on your part; energy consumption is managed automatically. This requires you to have your own energy management system (EMS), which intelligently manages larger electricity consumption and shifts it to times when tariffs are favourable. A communicative smart meter reliably transmits consumption data to Primeo Energie.

Switching tariffs
You can apply to switch tariffs directly on this page (further down). As a rule, the change will take effect within four weeks on the 1st of the following month. A minimum contract term of one year applies when changing tariffs. Once this minimum term has expired, you can always cancel your contract at the end of the quarter. The notice period is one month, taking into account the billing cycle.

You can find detailed information under ‘Prices and further information’.

Is the Primeo Dynamisch tariff right for me?

Primeo Dynamisch is only suitable for customers with higher and flexibly controllable electricity consumption. Electric cars, heat pumps and home storage batteries are among the larger electricity consumers. To take advantage of the dynamic tariff, you need your own energy management system (EMS) that automatically controls larger electricity consumption and can shift it to times when tariffs are lower. Such an EMS must be procured individually. A list of providers can be found here.

Electricity price trend

Prices under the dynamic tariff change hourly and depend on the season.

The chart remains valid for the current Primeo NetzDynamisch tariff until the end of 2026. From 2027, the electricity price trend will be adjusted to reflect the new Primeo Dynamisch tariff, which has been expanded to include an energy component.

Questions - Answers

I am already on the Primeo NetzDynamisch plan. Will I be automatically switched to Primeo Dynamisch from 2027?

Yes, you will be switched over automatically. We will inform all our customers personally about this change in autumn 2026. Along with this notification, you will also receive full details on how to adapt your energy management system (EMS).

Can I stay on my current Primeo NetzDynamisch tariff?

No, a purely dynamic grid usage tariff will no longer be offered from 2027. With the addition of the energy component, the potential for savings will increase significantly, meaning your energy management system (EMS) will pay for itself more quickly.

When can I benefit from the low rates offered by the optional tariff?

Prices change hourly and are announced by 6 p.m. for the following day. The following chart compares the prices of the optional tariff with the standard tariff and gives an impression of the price differences. Your energy management system searches for the cheapest prices and then switches on the electricity supply. It shifts the electricity supply to times when tariffs are low.

Which household applications are particularly suitable for load shifting?

The following applications with a higher energy requirement are particularly suitable for load shifting:

Charging an electric car: 3000 Kilowattstunden
Operating a heat pump: 4000-6000 kilowatt hours

(Energy requirement per year, reference values)

Where can I buy an energy management system (EMS)?

Here you will find an overview of energy management systems. As Primeo Energie's dynamic grid usage tariff is published in accordance with VSE industry guidelines, it should be compatible with all EMS systems. However, if customers have any questions about integrating the tariff into their EMS, we would refer them to the provider or installation company.

How do I know if I have a load profile measurement?

You can find this information in the myPrimeo customer portal. You will find your metering points under Consumption & Production. If ‘Load profile meter’ is indicated under Meter type, then you have a load profile measurement.

If you see the following information, you do not have a load profile measurement:
«Register values» means that you will receive instalment invoices and a final invoice with the annual consumption measured.
«Smart meter» means that you generally have a monthly meter reading.

How long does the changeover to the new tariff take?

At least 4 weeks in advance to the 1st of the following month.

Is it possible that I will pay more if the load shifting does not work?

Yes, if you have no loads that can be shifted, you will fare worse with the optional tariff than with the standard tariff in the basic supply.

What should I do if I have chosen the Primeo Dynamisch optional tariff but then want to switch back to the standard tariff?

When changing your tariff, a minimum contract term of one year applies. Once this minimum term has expired, you may cancel your contract at the end of any quarter, subject to the billing cycle. The notice period is one month. You must notify Primeo Energie of the change in writing.

What goals is Primeo Energie pursuing with the Primeo Dynamisch optional tariff?

The aim is to reduce peak loads in the electricity grid and thus relieve the burden on the grid. Dynamic tariffs are an effective means of achieving this. They create a financial incentive for customers to shift their electricity consumption to times when electricity is cheaper and the load on the grid is low.

How are prices calculated?

How can I check the prices of the tariff in the web API?

Primeo Energie will announce the technical details here in autumn 2026, enabling you to view the new tariffs in your energy management system from the start of 2027.
