Site development - ultra-modern and future-orientated
We have extensive expertise in providing complex residential, commercial and industrial areas with sustainable and efficient heating and cooling systems as well as integrated energy solutions.
Successful ‘BaseLink’ project - site supply with 100 % renewable energy
Together with our project partners, we have developed a pioneering solution in Allschwil that sets new standards. We supply the site, which covers around 75,000 square metres, with electricity, heating and cooling - all from renewable energy sources.
In winter, heat is obtained from 250 geothermal probes that reach a depth of 280 metres. With the help of heat pumps, the sustainable energy is used to heat the buildings.
In summer, the heat pumps then function as cooling machines: The waste heat generated is channelled into the ground via the geothermal probes. The ground thus functions as a thermal battery.
Successful ‘uptownBasel’ project - industrial centre 4.0
The Birstal heating network is a major project that Primeo Energie is realising with the uptownBasel innovation campus. 25 existing heating systems and networks in Reinach, Arlesheim and Münchenstein are being merged and converted to renewable energies.
The centrepiece is a heating centre on the uptownBasel site in Arlesheim. It is currently under construction. Once in operation, it will primarily utilise the waste heat from uptownBasel as an energy source (base load). If more heat is required, for example in the cold season, biomass, i.e. mainly regional wood, will be used (medium load). High demand over a short period of time is covered by existing fossil fuelled heat generators (peak load).
Two biomass boilers are currently being installed in the new heating centre for wood firing. They each have an output of 8 and 11 megawatts. Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies and filter systems, they achieve the lowest possible exhaust gas values. A heat pump will be installed at a later date to utilise waste heat. In total, the heating centre of the Birstal heating network will have an output of up to 40 megawatts. This makes it the largest in Primeo Energie's portfolio in Switzerland.
