Climate protection with the Primeo Energie Green Bond

The Primeo Energie Group's Green Bond launched in 2021 is a great success. This is shown by this year's impact report. The report makes it clear that Primeo Energie is making a significant contribution to climate protection and the decarbonisation of the energy supply.

Primeo Energie published the Impact Report 2023 for the green bond issued at the end of September 2021. This shows how the measures contained in the bond contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals. In particular, Primeo Energie is making a significant contribution to the following four UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

SDG No. 7 "Affordable and clean energy"
SDG No. 9 "Industry, innovation and infrastructure"
SDG 11 "Sustainable cities and communities"
SDG no. 13 "Climate action"

As at 31 December 2023, the entire bond proceeds of CHF 100 million had been invested in existing and new green projects in accordance with the defined requirements. With 179 charging points, 99,225 electric charges were drawn for clean transport. 51,750 smart meters were installed, leading to a more conscious use of energy.

All in all, 60,831 tonnes of CO2 were avoided. To equalise these CO2 savings, which Primeo Energie achieved through the investments from the Green Bond, a good five million trees would have had to be planted. Considering that 80 trees can offset around one tonne of CO2. Accordingly, Primeo Energie is making a significant contribution to climate protection and the decarbonisation of the energy supply.
